The Carrera 547 racing engine is a legend from the sports car manufacturer Porsche. This technical masterpiece drove vehicles like the 356 or 550 Spyder to numerous race victories in the 1950s and 1960s.

The transparent function model as a kit was developed in cooperation with the Porsche Museum based on original drawings. More than 300 plastic components, some of which are movable, can be inserted and screwed together to form your own Carrera racing engine within around six hours. No glueing is necessary.

The vertical shafts, pistons and valves move in a realistic manner. Even the ignition sparks in the cylinders are simulated by LEDs. The transparent housing parts allow the mechanics of the motor and the motor structure to be seen and perceived from the outside. You can also hear the original Porsche engine sound thanks to the integrated sound module.

Created in collaboration with the Porsche Museum, the 112-page book offers an exciting insight into the history and technology of the original Type 547 engine. Numerous illustrations and drawings from the Porsche Museum archive revive the work of Ernst Fuhrmann's development team and trace the beginnings of Porsche racing engines. The numerous racing victories with the legendary engine are also illuminated in detail with lots of pictures. In addition to the comprehensive background knowledge, the guidebook contains a detailed, illustrated step-by-step instructions that take you through the model assembly process.
